So Many Moments

Recorded live during soundcheck at The Mercury Lounge.

Bowery Ballroom flier - March 6, 2004
The pinnacle of our career. The Bowery Ballroom is easily one of the best live venues in the city if not the country. After doing solid business at The Mercury Lounge we were rewarded with a slot at The Bowery Ballroom which is promoted by the same parent company. I think there are 5 blurry photos of us playing this gig but as of press time they are nowhere to be found. This would prove to be our last gig with Anthony.

Headliners Acquiesce was a young band from Long Island. Never heard of them prior to playing with them but was shocked and delighted to discover that other people had. So much so that they sold the place out. Not that were got to enjoy playing in front of a packed Bowery Ballroom crowd but we did get a larger crowd than usual.

Funny that The Church played two nights later. It wasn’t long ago we played The Cutting Room on the same bill as their guitarist Marty Willson Piper. The Decemberists too were moving up in life. 5 months earlier they were playing The Mercury Lounge the same month we were.

Brian’s Wedding
3/4 of Scratcher played an impromptu set at Brian’s wedding on an unseasonably hot Vermont fall day. We borrowed the wedding band’s instruments and played about 3 songs. And sweated profusely.

Scratcherland.com revised home page design
Our original website was very cool. Tons of bells, whistles and animation. Problem was anytime we had a change or gig date to add it had to be done by the web guy who designed it. So we scrapped it and had Sal build one we could easily update. This was the home page design knocked off from the iconic Las Vegas welcome sign. Scratcherland.com has since been retired and you’re looking at the only remnants of Scratcher’s digital existence.

Back when XM and Sirius Radio were actually two companies, The Passion of the Christ was the feel good movie of the year and 50 Cent made records.
